Prologue / Introduction du film (voix Off ) :

« A l’aube des temps, où les lueurs du feu originel sortaient du ventre du monde, influencées par les lumières du ciel qui se jouaient des formes sur les premiers reliefs de la terre, naissait dans le reflet des eaux de l’univers l’humanité, qui devint celle des peuples.

Ils ont marché et peu à peu se sont posés sur l’horizon. Ils se sont approprié la matière apprenant à la maîtriser et s’emploient à forger leur avenir, leur propre immortalité.

Comme le prolongement d’eux-mêmes, ils érigent des monuments vers le ciel pour capter les lumières et les souvenirs qui venaient de lui.

Ils construisent plus grand et plus vaste qu’ils ne le sont, cherchant à rejoindre la source au-dessus oubliant que l’origine fait partie de nous, que les mémoires se trouvent dans nos corps et sous nos pieds.

Les pierres sont les miroirs des âmes et des civilisations qui s’expriment et les peuples laissent aux vents qu’ils créent, le dessein de les caresser ou de les détruire.

A la terre de porter la matière, au feu d’ouvrir les ténèbres, à la lumière d’ouvrir ses arcs de couleurs où se prononcent l’amour et la haine qui saisissent les regards dans la douceur et les larmes de la peine.

Terre… dans la présence et l’ignorance, théâtre des êtres et de l’ombre, ils bâtissent dans les villes leurs temples et ses lumières. »

…At the dawn of times, playing off the first earthly landscapes, the skylights rivalled with
the glimmers of the original fire, born of the world’s womb. Then was born Mankind,
in the mirror of the waters of the universe, of which the Earth’s people were made…

…They walked, making their mark bit by bit upon the horizon. They tried to make matter
their own, learning to master it, and forging their future with it, their own immortality.

Like an extension of themselves, they erect monuments towards the sky,
in order to catch its lights and the memories whence they came.

They build bigger and higher than themselves, trying to reach their source above,
forgetting that our roots are part of ourselves, that the testimony of immemorial times
is within our bodies and under our feet.

Stones are the mirrors of civilisations, and of the souls, which speak through them…
…and the people leave it up to the winds they create, whether they are to be
caressed or destroyed by them.

For the Earth to bare matter, for fire to open up darkness, for light
to reveal the rainbow of its colours where love and hate are spoken,
which reflect in the eyes, the sweetness and tears of pain.

Earth…in presence and ignorance, theatre of shadow and of beings,
they build in their cities their temple and its lights…
